Post #2: A Day In My Life
Most of my days are very routine, especially the days that I have to go to work. I chose to go over a day that is not so routine, my day off. My last day off was Friday, April 18, 2025. Although it was my day off, it was a very busy day. Here’s what took place over the course of my day:
1.
Hygiene: After waking up and getting out
of bed at 6:30am, I brushed my teeth, did my skincare routine, shaved, took a
shower, and put on my outfit of the day. This entire process took me
approximately one and a half hours.
2.
Drop my daughter off at school: Once my
hygiene was complete, it was then 8am and time to take my daughter to school.
The drive to my daughter’s school took 20 minutes. Leaving at 8am ensures she
has enough time to make it to her first class that starts at 8:30am. I wished
her a good day, gave her a kiss, and was off to my next destination.
3.
Breakfast: After leaving my daughter’s
school, I drove to Starbucks. The drive from the school to Starbucks took me 10
minutes. I ordered a double-smoked bacon sandwich, a warmed pumpkin loaf, and a
Grande mango dragon fruit refresher with lemonade. To order and receive my
items also took 10 minutes.
4.
Prenatal massage: Once I got my breakfast
from Starbucks, it was then 8:40am, leaving me with 50 minutes to get to my
next destination. My next destination was a massage parlor, and it took me 20
minutes to get there. I sat in my car, ate my breakfast, and checked my email. This
took another 20 minutes. I then went inside the massage parlor to check in for
my 9:30am appointment. The prenatal massage took one hour.
5.
Grabbing lunch: After getting a much-needed
massage, I called a Chinese restaurant to place a to-go order. Once the order
was placed, I left to go to the restaurant to pick up the food, which was lunch
for my daughter and I. Ordering the food, the drive to the restaurant, and
picking up the food took me about 40 minutes.
6.
Family lunch day: Once I left the
restaurant, I made my way back to my daughter’s school to have lunch with her
for Family Lunch Day. Once every quarter, parents are allowed to bring food to school
and have lunch with their child. The drive back to her school took about 20
minutes, the process for checking in at the front took about 15 minutes, and my
daughter’s lunch was 45 minutes long. After wrapping up lunch and sending her
back to class, I was off to my next stop.
7.
Household duties: After leaving my
daughter’s school, I headed home to do some laundry. The drive home took me 20
minutes. I put a load of clothes in the washer and prepped my food for dinner. The
washer ran for about 35 minutes. Once the clothes were done washing, I placed
them in the dryer and headed to my room.
8.
Nap time: While the clothes were drying, I
decided to lay down for a nap. My nap was one hour and 45 minutes long. When I
woke up, it was 2:10pm.
9.
More household duties: After my nap, I
took the laundry out of the dryer, folded my clothes, and put them away. This
took me 45 minutes. Once the laundry was completed, I began to cook dinner, which
was homemade enchiladas. Dinner took me about one hour to make.
10.
School: Once dinner was finished, I logged
into my student portal and worked on an assignment for an hour and a half.
11.
Line dancing: After working on my
assignment, I put on my shoes and drove to the dance studio for my line dancing
class. The drive to class was about 25 minutes, the class started at 6pm, and was
one hour long.
12.
Pick up daughter: When the line dancing
class was over, it was time to pick up my daughter from theater rehearsal at
school. The drive from the dance studio to my daughter’s school took about 30
minutes.
13.
Wind down: My daughter and I arrived home
around 8pm. We sat down for dinner with the rest of our family, talked about
our days, and then headed to our rooms for showers and to get ready for bed. I
was in bed by 10pm. At this time, I turned on my television and watched one of
my shows for 30 minutes before I fell asleep.
My
day started at 6:30am and ended at 10:30pm. I was able to get a lot done and
had a very productive day off. It was nice to tackle a little bit of each of
the areas of my life. I enjoyed my day.
